Frequently asked questions
Who is Lech Global and what do they offer?
What does Lech Global do?
Lech Global is a Polish company specialising in the comprehensive import of goods from China to Europe on an end-to-end basis. We are a single partner responsible for the entire process: from sourcing and verifying suppliers in China, through factory audits, AQL quality control and EU compliance documentation (CE, REACH, RoHS), to sea or air transport, customs clearance and fulfilment in Poland. We operate as part of the Lech Group — an organisation with over 46 years’ experience in trade, manufacturing and logistics.
Is Lech Global an import agent, or does it operate directly?
Lech Global is not a traditional intermediary — we have our own operating company in China (Lech Trading Hangzhou, Linping District) and our own logistics and warehousing facilities, Lech Logistics, in Poland. This means direct contact with factories, no additional layers of intermediaries, and full control over the process on both sides. Our team visits suppliers in person, supervises production and reports to the client in Polish.
Who are Lech Global’s services aimed at?
Our services are aimed at manufacturers, retail chains and private label brands that import or plan to import goods from China to Europe. We support companies taking their first steps in importing from Asia, as well as experienced importers looking for a more reliable and transparent partner. In particular, we assist companies wishing to eliminate the quality, regulatory and logistical risks associated with importing from China.
Sourcing and finding suppliers in China
How does Lech Global find suppliers in China?
Our team in Hangzhou sources products directly from the Chinese market. For each project, we draw up a shortlist of factories that meet the product requirements, send out requests for quotation (RFQs), obtain samples and carry out preliminary due diligence. We do not use platforms such as Alibaba as our main source — we rely on established relationships with factories and local market knowledge, which translates into better prices and a higher quality of cooperation.
Can Lech Global check my current supplier in China?
Yes. We offer verification and auditing of existing suppliers as a separate service.
We check the legality of their operations, their actual production capacity, compliance with ESG standards, working conditions and their quality management system. If you use a trusted supplier but want to be sure they meet the standards required by the European market, we can verify this directly on site.
Which product categories does Lech Global source?
Thanks to the resources of the Lech Group, we have particular expertise in the textile and furniture sectors; however, our sourcing services are not limited to a single category. We cater to a wide range of product groups available on the Chinese manufacturing market. The key criterion is whether the product is subject to EU regulations — in such cases, our support with CE, REACH and RoHS documentation is particularly valuable.
Quality control and factory audits
What does quality control look like at Lech Global?
We carry out quality inspections in accordance with the AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit) methodology — a standard used by global retail chains and OEM manufacturers. We offer three types of inspection: PP (Pre-Production Inspection) prior to the start of production, DUPRO (During Production Inspection) during production, and PSI (Pre-Shipment Inspection) prior to dispatch. Each inspection concludes with a detailed report containing measurements, photographs and video footage.
What is a factory audit, and why is it worth commissioning one before placing your first order?
A factory audit is an assessment of a potential supplier carried out by our team directly in China before a contract is signed. We check: the legality of the business, the quality management system, working conditions and ESG standards. The audit protects against working with unreliable contractors who subcontract production without the client’s knowledge or disappear after receiving an advance payment. It is an investment that pays for itself many times over in the form of avoided losses.
Does Lech Global assist with obtaining CE, REACH and RoHS certificates?
Yes. We help you gather and verify the compliance documentation required by EU law before the goods leave China. This includes CE certificates, REACH and RoHS reports, and other documents specific to the product category in question. As an importer, you are responsible for ensuring your goods comply with EU regulations — we make sure you are protected before the goods reach the border or your shop.
Transport, customs clearance and logistics
What transport options from China does Lech Global offer?
We organise sea (FCL and LCL), air and multimodal transport on the China–Europe route. In cooperation with Lech Logistics — the Group’s own logistics operator with over 34 years’ experience — we coordinate the entire supply chain: from collection of goods from the manufacturer in China, through loading and freight, to unloading at the warehouse in Poland. One partner, one responsibility, no surprises.
Does Lech Global handle customs clearance for imports from China?
Yes, customs clearance is an integral part of our end-to-end service. We prepare import documentation, carry out customs classification of goods and coordinate customs clearance — ensuring that goods reach the customer efficiently, in accordance with EU regulations and without any delays at the border. Customers do not have to deal with customs formalities themselves or face the risk of incorrect classification.
Where are Lech Global’s warehouses located in Poland?
We operate a network of warehouses in Poland: Kostrzyn Wielkopolski (17 Krajowa Street), Gdańsk (5 Tama Pędzichowska Street) and Piła (8 Przepiórcza Street) — as well as an operational warehouse in Hangzhou, China (Linping District). This enables us to manage stock flexibly, handle distribution to B2B customers and carry out e-commerce fulfilment directly from within Poland.
Import costs and TCO analysis
What is TCO and why is it important when importing from China?
TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) refers to the total cost of importing goods — a figure that is significantly broader than the FOB price from China alone. It includes: transport, insurance, customs duties and VAT, quality control costs, customs clearance, fulfilment, potential returns and the costs of handling complaints. At Lech Global, we prepare detailed TCO analyses for every project, ensuring that the client knows the actual margin and can make an informed purchasing decision — before signing a contract with the factory.
Is importing from China via Lech Global cost-effective for small and medium-sized businesses?
Yes, we work with both large retail chains and smaller manufacturers and private labels. Our services reduce the risks and actual costs of importing — the elimination of complaints and non-compliant deliveries more than justifies the cost of our service. For small and medium-sized businesses, this is often the difference between a profitable and an unprofitable import.
